Branch Activity: We will create ornaments for a tree that is part of the Festival of Trees at Pearl S. Buck House. The ornaments will be star-shaped and will feature the photo and brief bio of a famous American woman past or present. The pictures and captions are all prepared. We will be assembling the ornaments and adding decorative touches. Please come and help with this endeavor and learn about some famous women you may not currently be familiar with.

Speaker: Samantha Freise, Museum Curator and Historic House Director at Pearl S. Buck International, who will talk about how Pearl S. Buck, author of “The Good Earth,” was a vocal activist for racial equality, women's rights, and cross-cultural understanding many years before the height of the civil rights movement.

    girls on average each year from 50 Schools in 4 counties at STEM for Girls - Discover Your Future, our all-day event since 1993 hosting interactive workshops conducted by outstanding women professionals who serve as leaders and role models in STEM fields

    of donations to organizations that help disadvantaged women get back on their feet through a program we call The Women’s Project

    total for books and materials that help celebrate Women’s History Month donated since 1973 to all schools (17) in the North Penn District

    of scholarships totaling over $150,000 given to high school seniors

    in Higher Education Scholarships awarded to deserving female non-traditional students since 2020

    third grade students mentored by AAUW branch members through the exchange of letters as well as a book for the child allowing them to practice their reading and writing skills in our Write Read Write program, started in 2002

    for a special award to a female middle school and high school student at the Montgomery County Science Research Competition since 2018
