Welcome Panel - Edward A. Diasio (Esq.), Judge Suzan G. Leonard, Marguerite M. Nocchi (Esq.) and Sandra Miller, PA AAUW Public Policy Chair
How Should Our Government Work?
Ok. Let’s talk Civics. The panel be presenting an interactive slide presentation regarding the rights and responsibilities of citizens and how government works at the Local, State and Federal levels. The program will be divided into three sections with Mr. Diasio presenting the executive branch, including executive powers of the President as well as other departments of the executive branch. Ms. Nocchi will speak about the Legislative Branch, the role of Congress, inclusive of how the electoral college works. Judge Leonard will speak about the Judicial branch Recognizing that the system of checks and balances is being disintegrated, we are anticipating a lively discussion.
In addition, Sandra Miller (PA AAUW Public Policy Chair) will share the details of our new partnership with the League of Women Voters.
