Community College Scholarships
In our effort to support nontraditional students, our branch awards yearly scholarships to full-time students at the Community College of Philadelphia. Requirements to apply for the award include Pell eligibility (indicating financial need), a minimum GPA of 2.5, a recommendation from a faculty member or work supervisor, and a response to an essay prompt.

Excellence in Writing
Open to all the local high school students, both girls and boys, this contest recognizes creative abilities of student-submitted selections of poetry or prose. All evaluation and scoring is conducted with author’s anonymity. The winners, invited to an awards ceremony, are given a certificate of achievement, a small gift, and the opportunity to read their winning selection. Over the years we have received some outstanding entries that truly demonstrate the creative talent in these young people.
