Stitchery

Our Stitchery Group meetings are held once a month in a member’s home, usually on the second Thursday.

Members share projects and skills for approximately two hours working on personal stitchery projects (knitting, crocheting, weaving quilting, needlecraft, etc.) and socialize with creative friends.

Members enjoy the casual camaraderie of creative, skilled artisans. Many have enjoyed the “time out” to do something creative for a few hours. Maya Angelou said, “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.

Throughout the year, we also work on group projects to donate to local charities. All skill levels are welcome. For additional information and confirmation of meeting dates, please click here to contact the leaders.

Come join us to relax and let your creativity shine!

Over the years our group has donated items to:

• Sell at our Scholarship Auction – baby chicks

• AAUW Lansdale - knitted, crocheted, and quilted flowers made into floral centerpieces and mats to set them on for branch meetings

Luv2Knit & More, a non-profit business of volunteers, who help others learn the meditative effects of knitting and crocheting as a way to deal with a variety of addictions or afflictions such as PTSD, autism, alcoholism, drug addiction, depression and anxiety. At this yarn store in Jenkintown, lessons are provided as well as a beautiful selection of unique yarns and needles for crafters of every skill and interest level.

The Baby Bureau - baby blankets, hats, booties and books for underserved and at risk babies

Mitzvah Circle, gathering clothes, toiletries, knitted and crocheted hats, and toiletries for families in our area experiencing financial crisis

• The Well – a year-round respite for 12 homeless women in Philadelphia, run in partnership with The Welcome Church and Trinity Memorial Church. Soap sacks filled with bars of soap were donated.

Project Linus - provides handmade blankets to children 0-18 in the United States who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. Blankets are donated to a local Project Linus chapter.
